Foundation

The aim of the Fondazione Teatro dell'architettura is the promotion and management of cultural events with a strong public appeal (international, national, local) within the Teatro dell'architettura Mendrisio in relation to the Accademia di architettura - USI.

The Fondazione plays an important supporting role in organizing and carrying out the activities of the Teatro dell'architettura as it collaborates in the realization of a program of events, exhibitions and shows, promoting exchanges with the various museum structures, research centers, archives and other similar institutions at cantonal, national and international level.

The Fondazione Teatro dell’architettura aims, in particular, to offer visibility to the new transdisciplinary interests that increasingly intervene in the design process and redefine the social role of architecture. The complex issues facing contemporary society - commitment to the environment, the availability of energy resources, drastic climate change and new complex social realities - strongly condition the dynamics linked to identity aspects at a territorial level, so much so that new approaches and a new disciplinary sensitivity are needed in the field of architecture, urban studies and landscape design.
